About the Role

As Health and Safety Manager, you will be responsible for leading the UKI Health and Safety strategy, ensuring compliance with UK and Ireland legislation and supporting operational teams across Sales, Service, Rental and Office functions to deliver safe and compliant services.

You will play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing Arjo’s integrated management systems, helping to minimise risk while supporting business growth and operational excellence.

What You’ll Be Doing

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the development and implementation of the UKI Health and Safety strategy in line with ISO 45001, UK and Ireland legislation, and relevant EU legislation.
  • Promote a positive safety culture across all Arjo UKI locations and functions.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to managers and employees on Health and Safety matters.
  • Coach and support leadership teams to drive accountability for safety performance.
  • Act as the legal responsible person for UKI Health and Safety, once the relevant qualification has been achieved.
  • Mentor others within the QRC UKI team.
  • Ensure compliance with all UK and Ireland Health and Safety legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain and continuously improve Health and Safety management systems, including ISO 45001 and related standards.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and ensure the business adapts accordingly.
  • Support internal and external audits, ensuring actions are closed in a timely manner.
  • Oversee risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work.
  • Lead incident investigations, identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Analyse trends and provide insight to reduce accidents and near misses.
  • Ensure appropriate controls are in place across operational activities, including field-based roles.
  • Work closely with Sales, Service, Rental and QRC teams to embed safe working practices.
  • Support depot and field-based teams with practical, solution-focused guidance.
  • Collaborate with HR on wellbeing, training and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Develop and deliver Health and Safety training programmes.
  • Track and report on Health and Safety KPIs and performance metrics.
  • Provide regular updates to senior leadership and drive continuous improvement initiatives based on data and insight.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone with:

  • NEBOSH Diploma or an equivalent Health and Safety qualification.
  • Experience with ISO standards, including ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001.
  • Proven experience in a Health and Safety leadership role within a multi-site organisation.
  • Strong knowledge of UK and Ireland Health and Safety legislation.
  • Experience managing HSE management systems and compliance frameworks.
  • The ability to influence, engage and challenge stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience working across operational environments such as field service, logistics or similar.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • A practical, solutions-focused approach with the confidence to balance compliance requirements with business needs.

Desirable Experience

It would be advantageous if you also have:

  • A background in healthcare, medical devices or service-based industries.

Travel RequirementsThis role will involve travel within the UK and Ireland, and occasional overseas travel may be required.
