Full job description

We are expanding and this is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established Production team. If you have at least 2 years’ experience soldering fine pitch to 0201 and/or at least 2 years’ experience of microscope soldering of micro coax cable 38AWG, you could be a perfect fit to join our team and be trained across our assembly line of medical hearing instruments, Final Test and our service department.

Based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, Otodynamics Ltd has been designing and manufacturing electronic medical hearing-testing instruments for hospitals, private clinics and military facilities worldwide for nearly 40 years. Your Role

  • Assembly of our new and existing product range, completing them to specification in line with set key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Carrying out quality inspections using formal work instruction and technical drawings. You’ll accurately and methodically troubleshoot during the build of products.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure products meet high quality standards.

Your Skills & Experience (Soldiering skill will be assessed as part of the recruitment process)

  • Minimum 2year+ electronics experience working in a production environment is essential.
  • Minimum 2year+ Hands- on experience in precision soldering with good hand to eyesight coordination with proven experience in fine pitch soldiering to 0201 size, preferably trained to IPC-A-610 and/or experience soldering under microscope such as micro coax cable 38AWG will be advantageous.
  • Ability to read assembly drawings and quickly understand and follow work instructions and procedures
  • Must be familiar with using digital multi-meter, power supplies, oscilloscopes and other common electronics lab equipment,
  • Experience working within a quality managed system and able to accurately handle/record data.
  • PC literate with experience in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel and Word.
