POSITION SUMMARY:

The Clinical Specilaist, Cryo Nerve Block role is responsible for supporting the field sales team in driving the clinical adoption and utilization of Cryo Nerve Block in operating rooms in the cardiothoracic surgical departments. This field based role serves as both a clinical and commercial partner, providing case coverage, product education and procedural support while helping the Regional Sales Managers build relationships and grow business.

As a clinical and technical resource for surgeons, anesthetists, perioperative staff and hospital stakeholders, the Ablation Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring successful product implementation and customer satisfaction. This position offers an excellent entry point into the medical device and medical sales industry, combining clinical education, operating room experience, customer engagement and exposure to healthcare sales strategy.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide in-theatre support during surgical procedures utilizing Cryo nerve block technology
  • Drive utilization and adoption of Cryo nerve block therapy within existing accounts by building clinical advocacy, increasing procedural usage, and supporting long-term customer success.
  • Assist healthcare professionals with technical and procedural questions during cases
  • Maintain a strong understanding of surgical workflows and operating room protocols
  • Training of surgical and OR staff personnel in the use of company devices
  • Educate surgeons, anesthetists, nurses, operating room personnel on the safe and effective use of Cryo nerve block technology
  • Deliver in-service training and product demonstrations,
  • Serve as a trusted clinical resource to customers, answering questions and demonstrating best practice
  • Partner with RSMs and Clinical specialists to identify growth opportunities within existing accounts
  • Assist with physician education events and conferences
  • Guidance and support for physicians during live surgical procedures, and utilization and/or operation of company technology
  • Conduct training for the surgeon and medical staff with modalities such as didactic and hands-on approaches
  • Provide technical and clinical support during surgical procedures
  • Make calls on surgeons and support staff as necessary to discuss AtriCure technology, training programs, and clinical programs and trials
  • Work in a team environment with Sales, Marketing, and Engineering
  • Communication on frequent basis, reporting on case notes and product and clinical feedback

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific, technical, healthcare, or related field.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Experience working in an operating room environment; cardiothoracic, orthopedic, or related surgical experience gained through industry or clinical practice is preferred but not required.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and customer relationship management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout the assigned territory.
  • Willingness to support early morning, daytime, and evening surgical cases as required.
  • Ability to travel up to 70%.
