Job Advert – Project Engineer

Acquisitions Systems Ltd/Pharmagraph is looking for a Project Engineer to join our well-established and growing engineering company. The role is based in Finchampstead and reports to the IMS Systems Manager. The company’s products are used in monitoring and control systems for pharmaceutical, NHS and life sciences customers, as well as for general engineering and military applications.

ASL is an engineering focussed company that is agile to market needs to ensure we provide software and products that assist our customers in achieving regulatory compliance and are easy to use. A key strength remains in our ability to provide a turnkey project from design, build, installation and qualification through to system lifetime support and calibration which is only possible with our expert teams.

The role

Responsible for the successful design, implementation, installation and testing of environmental monitoring systems to pharmaceutical, NHS and life sciences customers.

The role includes, but is not limited to, the following activities relating to ASL/ Pharmagraph environmental monitoring systems:

  • Development of design documentation (including drawings) in accordance with customer requirements and contracted scope of supply. Development of test protocol documentation
  • Specification and ordering of parts from third party manufacturers, where necessary
  • Configuration of application software, Windows operating system and associated PC hardware
  • Installation and commissioning of hardware, software and electrical components at customer sites
  • Execution of Factory Acceptance Tests and Site Acceptance Tests
  • Provide supervision and control of all activities for assigned projects
  • Management of installation sub-contractors
  • Operational training of customer staff
  • Liaising with customers, distributors, suppliers, and internal departments to coordinate project activities and ensure successful project delivery.

Supporting the continuous improvement of project processes, documentation, and engineering standards.

The role involves occasional international travel and may require the hire and operation of vehicles in overseas locations as part of project delivery activities.

Skills/Experience/Qualifications

·Computer literate with a good working knowledge of Windows Operating Systems, Drawing packages such as AutoCAD and AutoSketch, Microsoft Office programs (e.g. Excel, Word & Outlook).

  • Previous experience in a related field is desirable.
  • At least 2 years working experience in a service/commissioning/project engineering role.
  • Knowledge of instrumentation, SCADA, PLC systems desirable
  • IT skills/ experience desirable
  • Experience of working in pharmaceutical or NHS / healthcare businesses would be beneficial.
  • Excellent customer service skills are essential.
  • Confident in dealing with commercial, corporate, national and international customers.
  • Electrical / Electronic qualification desirable
  • Good numeric and written English skills
  • A proactive and enthusiastic approach to work and the desire and aptitude to learn new skills
  • Organised, self-motivated, and comfortable working with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel within the UK and overseas.
