Job Purpose Summary

Reporting to the production manager and working within the manufacturing and project teams.

Responsible for ensuring production targets, continuous improvement and helping ensure a safe working environment.

Project Engineer Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Troubleshoot and problem solve with internal and external project stakeholders
  • Produce and update project documentation such as project schedule, engineering change control, non-conformance reporting and PFMEA’s.
  • Assist with process flow and factory layout optimisation.
  • Review manufacturing methods, working closely with the design team to ensure design for manufacturability.
  • Champion continuous improvement, proactively seeking opportunities and developing new processes.
  • Provide timely manufacturing support to the production floor.
  • Provide realistic cost targets which are compatible with product margin objectives.
  • Provide accurate reporting on manufacturing progress, process times and material spend.
  • Assist in production planning where relevant.
  • Update Health and Safety information and help ensure safe working practice during manufacturing.

Minimum Requirements

  • Engineering degree or HNC / HND with relevant engineering experience.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills. Allowing for successful cross functional collaboration with other teams in production, design, and quality.
  • >2 yrs experience in a manufacturing or project engineering role.
  • Ability to take ownership of a project or task. Planning and scheduling the workload for yourself and a small team.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Tool
  • Strong problem-solving skills
