Summary of Role:
Remtek Systems Limited is seeking a full-time Assistive Technology Trainer responsible for providing training and support to individuals with disabilities in using assistive technology devices and software.
The Assistive Technology Trainer is responsible for delivering high‑quality, personalised assistive technology training to disabled students and workplace clients. The role focuses on empowering learners to use assistive software and technology confidently and effectively, enabling independence, productivity, and long‑term success in education or employment.
The post holder will deliver training primarily under the Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA) framework and may also support workplace (B2B) clients, in line with Remtek Systems Ltd’s quality, compliance, and customer service standards.
This is a hybrid role where you will be working from your home address primarily for online/remote training sessions but will also include face to face training sessions at the customers address/ halls of residence/ business when required by the individual. Therefore, a valid driving license with no more than 3 points is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver 1:1 and group assistive technology training sessions (remote and face‑to‑face where required).
- Provide tailored training aligned to learner needs, study/workplace requirements, and agreed outcomes.
- Support a range of assistive technologies, including (but not limited to):
- Screen readers and magnification software
- Speech‑to‑text solutions
- Text‑to‑speech and literacy support tools
- Note‑taking, organisation, and productivity software
- Adapt training approaches to suit a range of disabilities, learning styles, and confidence levels.
Learner Support & Engagement
- Build positive, professional relationships with learners, ensuring an inclusive and supportive experience.
- Encourage learner independence and confidence through best‑practice assistive technology use.
- Respond appropriately to learner questions, challenges, and follow‑up support requests.
Administration & Reporting
- Complete accurate session notes, records, and reports within required timescales.
- Ensure all training activity complies with DSA guidance, funding rules, and Remtek procedures.
- Ensure all paperwork including (but not limited to) Timesheets and ILP’s are completed on time.
Quality & Compliance
- Deliver training in line with Remtek Systems Ltd policies, ISO 9001 standards, GDPR, and safeguarding requirements.
- Participate in observations, quality reviews, and continuous improvement activities.
- Act on feedback and mentoring from Team Leaders or Head of Department.
Collaboration & Development
- Work collaboratively with Team Leaders, administrators, assessors, and wider stakeholders.
- Keep skills and technical knowledge current through CPD, training updates, and self‑development.
- Support new systems, tools, or service developments as required.
