With our core laboratory based at The Halo Building in London WC1H 9AX, we also have an expanding site in Manchester as well as smaller hospital-based laboratories across the country. We maintain rigorously high standards of quality, whilst also delivering efficiencies to healthcare through careful workforce planning, pioneering technology and significant investment in infrastructure and IT.
About the role:
A vacancy has arisen for a full time, Associate Practitioner in our Molecular Virology Department based in Central London.
Duties include but not limited to; receipt and triage of samples, preparing specimens for analysis, to use, maintain, calibrate and control a range of specialist laboratory equipment, quality assurance, sample tracking and dispatching & communicating with colleagues and service users. You will also be required to assist the Biomedical Scientists in the laboratory. You must have good communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
The job holder will be expected to process and test patient specimens in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures by using manual, semi and fully automated laboratory methods.
Relevant experience is essential and a scientific qualification in biosciences would be an advantage.
