Join Barchester Healthcare as a Regulation Duty Desk Advisor, where you'll play a key role in supporting our services to respond effectively to regulators, safeguarding teams and external agencies.

As part of the Regulation and Quality Improvement Team, you'll help ensure our services provide timely, accurate and reassuring responses to enquiries, concerns, complaints and safeguarding matters. Working via our virtual Regulation Duty Desk, you'll support operational colleagues, help mitigate business risk, and contribute to maintaining high standards of regulatory compliance.

This hybrid role offers a mix of home working with occasional travel for meetings.

NEED TO DO:

Support operations teams in responding to enquiries and information requests from regulators and external agencies

Work closely with the Regulation Duty Desk Coordinator to triage incoming information and identify required internal actions

Review draft responses to ensure they meet regulatory expectations, provide assurance, and are submitted within required timescales

Liaise with General Managers, Hospital Directors and Regional Directors to gather and prepare information for responses

Collaborate with internal teams (Legal, Health & Safety, Feedback, Clinical) to ensure responses are accurate and well-informed

Provide ad hoc advice and guidance on regulatory matters to operational colleagues

Manage incoming correspondence, logging concerns, complaints and safeguarding cases on the appropriate systems

Provide clear updates at weekly review meetings to colleagues and senior managers

Handle general enquiries and support internal communications

Provide cover for the Regulation Duty Desk Coordinator when required, ensuring smooth operation of the duty desk inbox and reporting processes

NEED TO HAVE:

GCSE-level English (or equivalent)

Understanding of health and social care regulators and local authority safeguarding teams

Experience working within regulated health and social care environments

Experience liaising with regulators and safeguarding teams

Strong IT skills, including MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Excellent written English, proofreading ability and good numeracy

Experience in a busy, customer-focused role

Ability to work independently and collaboratively while staying calm under pressure

Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines
