Full job description

At First Steps Together, we believe every young person deserves the opportunity to succeed, regardless of the challenges they may have faced in education. Our provision is built around relationships, consistency, inclusion, and high expectations, creating safe and nurturing learning environments where pupils with SEND, SEMH needs, and disrupted educational experiences can rebuild confidence, develop independence, and achieve meaningful outcomes.

As our provision continues to grow, we are seeking an ambitious and passionate Curriculum Co-ordinator to play a central role in shaping and driving our educational offer. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced education professional who is committed to inclusive, child-centred practice and understands the importance of a carefully sequenced, engaging curriculum that meets the diverse needs of learners.

Working closely with senior leaders, teaching teams, and inclusion staff, you will lead the coordination, development, and quality assurance of our curriculum across the organisation. You will help ensure that curriculum intent is translated into exceptional classroom practice by supporting colleagues through coaching, collaboration, curriculum design, and evidence-informed professional development.

This role would particularly suit a candidate who is passionate about improving outcomes for students and making a meaningful difference in young people’s lives, but who is looking to move away from the direct classroom teaching element. It is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys the strategic, developmental, and leadership side of education — shaping high-quality learning experiences, supporting staff growth, and driving whole-school impact — while still remaining closely connected to student success and progress.

We are looking for someone who combines strong curriculum expertise with creativity, leadership, and compassion. The successful candidate will be passionate about improving outcomes for vulnerable learners, confident in supporting staff development, and committed to fostering a culture of continuous improvement, reflection, and high-quality teaching practice.

At First Steps Together, we pride ourselves on maintaining a supportive and values-driven culture where staff wellbeing, professional growth, and teamwork are genuinely prioritised. You will join a dedicated and forward-thinking team who are united by a shared mission: to make a lasting and meaningful difference in the lives of young people.

If you are motivated by purpose, believe in the power of inclusive education, and want to help shape an innovative and impactful curriculum provision, we would love to hear from you.
