  • The salary for this role is 50k - 60k
  • This is a full time, on-site role based in Huddersfield.

Our client is a specialist engineering organisation delivering bespoke combustion, process, automation and control solutions to global customers across sectors including chemical, oil & gas, pharmaceuticals and renewables. With a strong UK base and international reach, they are investing in growth and offering engineers the opportunity to work on high-value, technically complex systems.

Job Description

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead electrical design activities across multiple concurrent engineering projects
  • Produce electrical schematics, panel layouts, and wiring diagrams using AutoCAD Electrical
  • Design industrial control systems, MCCs, and power distribution solutions
  • Specify electrical components, instrumentation, and control devices
  • Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs)
  • Ensure compliance with IEC, ATEX, UL, and relevant industry standards
  • Support manufacturing, F.A.T testing, and commissioning activities
  • Produce technical documentation including O&M manuals
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering standards and processes

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate

  • HNC/HND or Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering (or similar)
  • Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in electrical design within industrial, process, or automation environments
  • Strong experience using AutoCAD Electrical (or similar CAD package)
  • Good knowledge of control panels, MCCs, and power distribution systems
  • Understanding of industrial standards and hazardous area environments (ATEX/IECEx beneficial)
  • Practical awareness of commissioning and installation activities
  • Strong problem-solving ability and communication skills
  • Able to work both independently and within multi-disciplinary engineering teams
