We are working with an established and growing manufacturing business to recruit a Sensor Build Technician to join its specialist Manufacturing team.

The Role

As a Sensor Build Technician, you will play an important role in the manufacture of electronic assemblies that are fundamental to the performance and reliability of the company's products.

Working as part of a skilled manufacturing team, you will be responsible for the assembly and soldering of PCBs, sensors and associated electronic components, ensuring that every product meets the required quality and workmanship standards.

You'll work to established build instructions and IPC standards, carrying out precise and repetitive tasks where accuracy, consistency and attention to detail are essential.

The role will include:

· Assembling and soldering PCBs, sensors and small electronic components

· Working with soldering equipment and precision tools

· Following detailed build instructions, drawings and manufacturing procedures

· Carrying out visual and functional quality inspections

· Ensuring assemblies meet required specifications and workmanship standards

· Working in accordance with IPC J-STD-001 requirements

· Identifying and escalating quality issues or unclear specifications

· Maintaining accurate and consistent production output

· Supporting daily production targets and manufacturing plans

· Contributing ideas to improve quality, efficiency and manufacturing processes

· Supporting and sharing knowledge with new or less experienced team members

· Working collaboratively with Production, Quality and Manufacturing Engineering teams.

About You

You don't necessarily need to be an experienced electronics technician.

We're particularly interested in people who have and can demonstrate excellent attention to detail, good manual dexterity and a genuine interest in precision hands-on work.

You may already have experience in:

· Electronics assembly

· PCB assembly

· PCB soldering

· Electrical assembly

· Precision manufacturing

· Sensor manufacturing

· Small-component assembly

· Production or manufacturing environments

Alternatively, you may have developed strong practical skills in another technical or manufacturing environment and be looking for an opportunity to move into electronics manufacturing.

Full training will be provided for candidates who demonstrate the right attitude, aptitude and attention to detail.

What You'll Need

Essential

· You can demonstrate excellent attention to detail

· Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination

· Ability to work accurately with small components

· Ability to carry out repetitive, highly precise tasks consistently

· A strong commitment to quality and workmanship

· Ability to follow detailed procedures and work instructions

· Good organisational and time-management skills

· Basic computer literacy, including Microsoft Office

· A proactive and positive approach to work.

Desirable

· Previous experience in electronic assembly or PCB soldering

· Experience within a manufacturing environment

· Formal training in electronics, assembly or soldering

· IPC J-STD-001 certification

· Previous experience working to IPC or other recognised manufacturing standards.

If you don't currently hold IPC certification, that's not a problem — there will be an opportunity to develop your skills and work towards IPC J-STD-001 certification.
