Your new company
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a nationally significant Restoration & Renewal Programme, contributing to the delivery of one of the UK's most complex and prestigious built environment projects. Working within a multidisciplinary technical team, you will play a critical role in assuring the quality, compliance and performance of Public Health Engineering designs across a unique heritage estate.
Your new role
As the Public Health Engineering Technical Assurance Lead, you will act as an informed client, providing independent technical review and challenge of consultant-produced designs. Working closely with internal teams, external design partners and key stakeholders, you will ensure solutions meet programme requirements, statutory obligations, operational needs and heritage constraints.
Key responsibilities include:
Acting as the technical discipline lead for Public Health Engineering across the programme.
Reviewing designs, calculations, reports, specifications, drawings and BIM models.
Providing assurance across:
Domestic hot and cold water systems
Foul and rainwater drainage systems
Rainwater harvesting and attenuation
Greywater systems
Fire suppression interfaces
Sustainability, BREEAM and WELL requirements
Identifying design risks, non-conformances and opportunities for improvement.
Challenging technical assumptions and ensuring value-driven solutions.
Supporting stakeholder engagement with design consultants, contractors and statutory authorities.
Monitoring consultant performance against agreed quality, scope and programme requirements.
What you'll need to succeed
Degree in Public Health Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or equivalent professional accreditation.
Significant experience delivering Public Health Engineering solutions on complex building projects.
Strong understanding of UK legislation, regulations, standards and industry best practice.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Sound technical judgement and a collaborative approach to problem solving.
Experience using digital coordination and delivery platforms including Aconex, Navisworks and Bluebeam Revu.
