Full job description

Step Up. Make an Impact. Join Safer Sphere.

Looking to take the next step in your construction safety career? We’re Safer Sphere — an award-winning, fast-growing consultancy specialising in CDM and health and safety.

We work with clients across a range of sectors, making sure projects stay safe, legal, and on track from day one to handover.

Now we’re looking for a CDM / Health & Safety Consultant to join our team. If you care about doing things properly and want to be part of something that’s genuinely making a difference in construction, this could be the role for you.

What You’ll Do

You’ll support clients across live projects, giving clear, practical advice from early design through to site work. Your focus will be on keeping people safe and helping teams meet their duties under CDM 2015.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support clients, designers and project teams to meet CDM 2015 requirements
  • Review designs and flag any health and safety risks early
  • Complete and manage CDM paperwork including F10 notifications and Pre-Construction Information
  • Carry out SKET assessments and provide guidance
  • Review CPPs and RAMS, advising clients and contractors where needed
  • Carry out site safety audits and inspections
  • Pull together and issue the Health and Safety File at the end of a project
  • Keep up to date with your CPD and professional memberships
  • Join team meetings and workshops to share ideas and learn from others

What We’re Looking For

You’re someone who gets stuck in, speaks up, and takes responsibility. You’re not just here to tick boxes — you want to help create safer, smarter places to work.

You’ll need:

  • At least 5 years of experience in construction health and safety
  • A background in design or construction is ideal
  • CMaPS or CIOSH status (or working towards it)
  • Strong communication skills and confidence to lead conversations
  • A practical, problem-solving mindset
  • The ability to work independently while being part of a team

Why Join Us?

We offer more than just a job. At Safer Sphere, you’ll be part of a team that’s trusted, respected and doing work that matters.

You’ll get:

  • A competitive salary
  • Car allowance
  • 25 days’ holiday plus public holidays (plus a holiday buy scheme)
  • Flexible working and a focus on work-life balance
  • Pension scheme
  • Private healthcare
  • Life assurance
  • Electric car scheme
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Phone and IT equipment

And there’s something extra. Safer Sphere is partly employee-owned through our Employee Benefit Trust. That means 49% of our profits are shared with the team.

Ready to Build Something Better?

If you’re ready to make a real impact in construction safety, we’d love to hear from you.

Safer Sphere does not accept unsolicited CVs or candidate details from agencies. Any CV submitted without prior written agreement will be treated as a direct application.
