Full job description

Clinical Educator / Trainer – Learning Disability & Autism
Associate | Day Rate | UK-wide travel

Are you a clinical educator with hands-on Learning Disability and Autism expertise, ready to take that experience into the training room?

We're looking for experienced trainers with a genuine clinical or care background in LD and autism to join our growing Associate team, delivering face-to-face training that raises standards across the Health & Social Care sector. This isn't generic training delivery we want people who've worked directly with autistic people and people with learning disabilities, and who can bring that lived clinical credibility into every session.

This role requires a full UK driving licence, your own car, and genuine willingness to travel to client sites across the UK. Every session is delivered in person, so this is non-negotiable.

About the Role

You'll deliver engaging, compliant, in-person training to NHS trusts, emergency services, large care providers, local authorities and private healthcare organisations with a particular focus on LD and autism-specific content, including Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training and related specialist programmes. You'll be trusted to bring real clinical judgement and lived professional experience into the room, not just deliver a script.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver face-to-face, onsite training across multiple Health & Social Care settings, with a focus on Learning Disability and Autism content
  • Facilitate mandatory training (including Oliver McGowan Tier 1 & Tier 2) and specialist LD/autism courses
  • Draw on direct clinical or care experience to ground training in real-world practice, not just theory
  • Adapt delivery to suit diverse learners, including frontline care staff, clinical teams and managers
  • Ensure content aligns with current UK legislation, CQC expectations and best practice
  • Support learners to build genuine competence and confidence when supporting autistic people and people with learning disabilities
  • Travel independently to client sites across the UK, sometimes with early starts or overnight stays

What We're Looking For

  • A clinical or care background specifically within Learning Disability and/or Autism e.g. nursing, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, positive behaviour support, specialist LD/autism support work, or equivalent frontline clinical roles
  • Over 2 years' experience delivering in-person training within Health & Social Care
  • Recognised training/teaching qualification (e.g. AET/PTLLS or equivalent) or a genuine willingness to work towards one
  • Strong, confident presentation and facilitation skills, with the ability to hold a room of mixed-experience learners
  • Comfortable adapting delivery on the fly for different environments, from NHS trust classrooms to care home lounges
  • Full UK driving licence, car ownership, and willingness to travel extensively across the UK

What We Offer

  • Competitive day rate, reflecting your clinical expertise as well as your training delivery skills
  • Flexible, Associate-based working
  • Ongoing professional development and access to specialist LD/autism training content
  • The chance to genuinely shape practice and outcomes for autistic people and people with learning disabilities, at scale

Pay: From £250.00 per day

Work Location: On the road
