Role:
We are looking for enthusiastic and professional drivers who have experience in Emergency Blue Light Driving, to join our team of Pilots, Doctors, Nurses and Paramedics, to provide seamless transport by road for our patients from Airport to Hospital as part of our Emergency Retrieval Service.
We provide a ‘bed to bed’ Medical Airbridge from the Channel Islands to NHS Hospitals on the mainland, allowing patients to receive definitive and more advanced care than can be provided on the islands. We have a fleet of three Aircraft, which tend to land at either Bournemouth or Southampton Airport. the breadth of patients who fly with us can range from “walk on” patients, to fully intubated and ventilated patients who require the utmost of care. Your role would support those transfers on an ad hoc basis, based on your availability.

Applicants will need to live within 60 minutes of Bournemouth Airport to apply for the role.



/ Responsibilities:
  • Providing engagement via our dedicated Communication Channel when transfer requests are made
  • Being security aware for arrival at Airfield (security induction and training will be provided)
  • Assisting medical team on the airfield unloading the patient from the aircraft
  • Ability to drive smoothly and safely in all road and weather conditions
  • Ability to drive progressively and safely when patient condition necessitates a timely road transfer under blue lights and sirens
  • Assist medical team taking patient into ward, assisting in handover and cleaning medical equipment

/ Skills, Qualifications and Experience required:
  • BTEC or equivalent course in blue light driving
  • Experience in transporting patients by ambulance
  • Current / recent experience in an ambulance service
  • Flexible attitude to availability to call outs
  • No points on licence
  • Enhanced DBS vetted
/ Compensation:
Minimum pay for a call out is 5 hours, and base rate of pay will be £15.00
