About the role

Sulzer is a global leader in fluid engineering and rotating equipment services, with a proud history dating back to 1834. Through our Rotating Equipment Services division, we deliver world-class maintenance, repair, and upgrade solutions for critical turbomachinery, including steam turbines, industrial gas turbines, aeroderivatives, and large compressors. Our Services team specializes in ensuring the reliability and longevity of rotating equipment and turbomachinery assets for customers in oil & gas, power generation, and industrial sectors.

As a Field Service Engineer, you will be at the forefront of delivering these solutions. Working on rotating equipment across diverse client sites worldwide, you’ll ensure critical assets operate at peak performance.

Location: Flexible – Can be based anywhere in the UK

Travel: Domestic and international travel, both onshore and offshore

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, remove, repair, commission, and maintain rotating equipment onshore and offshore.

  • Dismantle, inspect, and report on equipment condition using standard field service documentation.

  • Compile detailed inspection and commissioning reports, liaising with internal teams and clients.

  • Reassemble and test equipment following engineering best practices and OEM standards.

  • Ensure compliance with client and company safety procedures at all times.

  • Provide professional client interaction to minimize downtime and maintain strong relationships.

What We’re Looking For

  • We’re seeking a time-served mechanical engineer with proven practical experience in the maintenance and overhaul of rotating equipment,

  • Flexibility and willingness to travel, both domestically and internationally, including offshore assignments.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in challenging environments.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to troubleshooting and delivering solutions under pressure.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with clients and internal teams.
