Science Teacher

Location: South London (SE1) London

Salary: £30,900 FTE per annum

Working Pattern:

Science Teacher: Full-time

  • Monday – Wednesday: 8.30am – 4.30pm
  • Thursday: 8.30am – 6.00pm
  • Friday: 8.30am – 4.00pm

We provide full training and 1:1 mentoring. This role is ideal for career changers, returning professionals, and graduates seeking SEN or SEMH experience.

Deliver high-quality science lessons across KS3–KS4 within our AP and SEND settings. You'll work closely with small groups and individuals, building genuine relationships and helping students rediscover their confidence in science.

About the role

The Role:

We are looking for a Science Teacher to teach small groups and individual students at our Learning Hubs in South London. Our students are typically not suited to mainstream education due to SEN, medical needs, or SEMH.

Who we’re looking for

You’ll need:

  • An honours degree or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Experience delivering high-quality Science lessons, ideally across KS3–KS4.
  • Knowledge of current Science curriculum, SEN practices, and alternative pedagogies.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Confidence working independently and as part of a team.
  • A creative, flexible, and proactive approach.

Desirable:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Degree or A-level in Science.
  • Experience teaching students with behavioural and/or SEN needs.
  • Background in a creative, therapeutic, or alternative education setting.
  • Ability to teach English, Maths and Science to a foundation GCSE level.
