Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will provide essential support to patients in care homes and home care settings, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. Duties

  • Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility
  • Support the development and implementation of personalised care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to patients, fostering a caring environment
  • Monitor and record patients’ health status, reporting any concerns to senior staff
  • Assist with medication administration as directed by healthcare professionals
  • Support patients with meal preparation and feeding when necessary
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation within care environments, adhering to health and safety standards
  • Drive or accompany patients to appointments or outings as required, ensuring safe transportation

Skills

  • Good communication skills in English, with the ability to effectively interact with patients and team members
  • Experience or familiarity with care home or home care environments is advantageous
  • Ability to follow detailed care plans and instructions from healthcare professionals
  • Basic IT skills for maintaining accurate records and documentation
  • Valid driving licence is desirable for transporting patients or running errands
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail in managing patient needs and documentation
  • Compassionate nature with excellent interpersonal skills to build trusting relationships with patients and their families
