JOB DESCRIPTION

The Job Mission

This is a hybrid role requiring regular presence in Bridgwater, with relocation support available. Candidates must be within commutable distance or willing to relocate.

You will support early-stage commissioning activities, focusing on readiness, coordination, and technical assurance.

  • Commission and test instrumentation, control and automation systems safely
  • Diagnose faults across control systems, equipment and interfaces
  • Support calibration, loop checks and functional testing activities
  • Review commissioning documentation, test records and handover packs
  • Work with electrical, mechanical and software engineering teams
  • Support issue resolution with contractors, suppliers and engineering teams
  • Interpret I&C drawings, schematics, logic diagrams and specifications
  • Ensure testing activities follow safety and quality procedures
  • Provide clear progress updates against commissioning milestones
  • Support continuous improvement across commissioning methods and missions

MY PROFILE

Nuclear experience is not essential, but is of course welcome. If you have worked within a highly regulated environment, your skills and approach are highly transferable and of strong interest to us.

We also recognise that the perfect candidate rarely exists. If you feel you meet around 80% of the criteria and are motivated to develop further, we would strongly encourage you to apply

  • I&C, controls, automation or commissioning experience
  • Background in industrial or regulated environments
  • Experience with testing, diagnostics or fault finding
  • Able to interpret technical drawings and schematics
  • Knowledge of DCS, PLC or SCADA systems
  • Understanding of calibration and instrumentation testing
  • Comfortable producing accurate technical documentation
  • Safety-focused approach to commissioning activities
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary engineering teams
