National Account Manager

Ainsworth Recruitment has been exclusively retained to recruit an exceptional National Account Manager on behalf of a market-leading organisation operating within the healthcare workforce and recruitment sector. This is a confidential search for a commercially driven professional looking to make a significant impact within a fast-paced, service-led business.

As National Account Manager, you will take ownership of a portfolio of strategic national accounts, developing long-term partnerships while identifying opportunities to grow revenue, improve service delivery, and strengthen customer relationships. Working collaboratively with operational, commercial, and senior leadership teams, you will play a key role in delivering sustainable business growth and ensuring exceptional client satisfaction across multiple locations.

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious account management professional with a proven track record of managing complex B2B relationships, negotiating commercial agreements, and delivering measurable results within the healthcare recruitment sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop a portfolio of strategic national accounts, acting as the primary commercial contact.
  • Build trusted relationships with key stakeholders at all levels, ensuring outstanding customer experience and long-term retention.
  • Identify opportunities to increase revenue through cross-selling, upselling, and strategic account development.
  • Lead regular business reviews, analysing performance data, KPIs, market trends, and customer insights to drive continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with operational teams to ensure service delivery consistently exceeds client expectations.
  • Develop and implement account plans aligned with organisational growth objectives.
  • Prepare commercial proposals, negotiate contract renewals, and support tender opportunities where appropriate.
  • Utilise the company’s CRM system to manage pipelines, forecast opportunities, maintain accurate customer records, and provide meaningful business reporting.
  • Monitor competitor activity and market developments to identify new commercial opportunities.
  • Represent the organisation professionally at client meetings, industry events, and networking opportunities.

About You

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Essential: Proven experience in National Account Management, Key Account Management, or Business Development within the healthcare recruitment sector.
  • Essential: Strong understanding of healthcare staffing, workforce solutions, and recruitment services.
  • Experience managing large, complex client relationships across multiple locations.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify growth opportunities and deliver against revenue targets.
  • Excellent analytical skills with confidence interpreting commercial data and performance metrics.
  • Outstanding negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building abilities.
  • Experience using CRM systems to manage customer relationships, reporting, and sales activity.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationally as required.
