Full job description

  • Part time, Term time only (34 weeks plus some extra hours in school holidays and for INSET days)
  • Hours: In the region of 20-22 hours over four days per week to include Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
  • Circa £24,867 per annum pro rata
  • Reporting to: Senior School Laboratory Technician

Sibford School are now seeking an individual with a ‘can-do’ attitude and great attention to detail.

The role co-ordinates the use of practical resources and facilities and to provide assistance and advice in meeting the practical needs of the science curriculum, under the guidance of Science Teachers and Senior Technician.

The ideal candidate will be organised, be able to work using their own initiative and have:

  • Knowledge and/or experience of practical Science and laboratory safety
  • Excellent record keeping ability and attention to detail
  • Proficient in the use of ICT
  • Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Genuine interest in providing an environment in which pupils can excel
  • Flexible “can do” attitude to work
  • Ability to recognise and develop opportunities within the role and the departmentThe role involves maintaining a health and safe environment while preparing equipment, chemicals and materials for school science lessons.

Experience of working in a laboratory or Science related environment preferred but full training will be given.
