Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm

Salary: Up to £28,000 per year, based on skills and experience.

About Marine Testing Solutions

We are a specialist UK manufacturer and supplier of water testing solutions. From our West Sussex facility, we develop and manufacture testing kits, chemical reagents and equipment for customers across the international marine and industrial sectors. Our in-house laboratory helps ensure consistent product quality.

The role

Join our laboratory team in a practical, hands-on role preparing and quality-checking chemical reagents, supporting product assembly and keeping the laboratory safe and organised. Full training is provided, giving you the opportunity to build practical laboratory and manufacturing experience.

Key responsibilities

· Reagent preparation: Accurately measure and prepare chemicals to approved formulations and procedures, then fill and label finished reagent products.

· Quality control: Test reagents and products, record results accurately and help ensure quality standards are met before release.

· Laboratory operations: Clean and prepare glassware, equipment and work areas; safely label and store chemicals, and monitor laboratory stock.

· Safety and documentation: Follow health and safety procedures when handling chemicals and hazardous materials, and assist with Safety Data Sheets and laboratory records.

· Product assembly: Assemble microbiological incubators and selected testing equipment, checking that finished products meet specifications and quality standards.

About you

· A Level Chemistry or equivalent is required.

· Careful and organised, with strong attention to detail and the ability to follow written procedures accurately.

· Reliable, keen to learn and able to work independently once trained, with good communication and teamwork skills.

Previous experience in a laboratory, manufacturing or quality-controlled environment is advantageous but not essential.

Working environment

This laboratory-based role involves working with chemicals and other laboratory materials and may require standing for extended periods. Appropriate PPE, training and safety procedures are provided.
