Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Band 6 Biomedical Scientist specialising in Biochemistry to join our dynamic laboratory team. In this vital role, you will perform complex biochemical analyses, support diagnostic testing, and contribute to patient care through accurate and timely laboratory results. Your expertise will help ensure the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency within the laboratory environment. Responsibilities

  • Conduct a wide range of biochemical tests and analyses with precision and attention to detail.
  • Ensure all laboratory procedures adhere strictly to established protocols, quality standards, and safety regulations.
  • Support the calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment to guarantee optimal performance.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of test results, quality control data, and equipment logs.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to interpret results.
  • Clinical authorisation of results.

Experience

  • Hold a Biomedical Science (Hons) degree or an IBMS accredited equivalent post-graduate qualification.
  • HCPC registered.
  • Proven experience in a clinical biochemistry laboratory setting in a similar role (Band 6 or equivalent).
  • Strong clinical knowledge.
  • Confident in clinical authorisation of patient results.
  • High level of verbal and written communication skills.
  • Accomplished practical skills.
  • Ability to problem solve when necessary.
  • Reliable.
  • Enthusiastic and motivated.
  • Team player.
