Job Title: Paralegal

Job Type: Contract/ Temporary

Duration: 4 Months

Rate: £103.85 per day

Location: Canary Wharf, London (3 days per week in the office)

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Paralegal to provide vital case management and legal support to our team of lawyers across civil litigation, prosecution, and inquest matters. In this fast-paced and varied role, you will manage electronic documentation, undertake legal research, and liaise with external counsel, courts, and internal stakeholders. The ideal candidate will combine precise attention to detail with a proactive, collaborative approach to support a busy legal department.

Key Duties

  • Manage legal documents and e-discovery systems (e.g. Recommind), while tracking key deadlines.
  • Attend court proceedings, inquests, and regulatory hearings to take accurate notes.
  • Conduct legal research, extract information, and prepare clear summaries.
  • Liaise with external lawyers, counsel's clerks, courts, and internal teams.
  • Maintain and update the internal legal knowhow database and share updates across the team.
  • Monitor legal developments and organise relevant training opportunities.
  • Provide general administrative support to assist the wider legal team as needed.

Ideal Candidate

  • LPC or BVC completed, or equivalent relevant legal experience.
  • 1–3 years of paralegal experience, with civil litigation experience being particularly useful.
  • Strong IT skills, including experience with electronic document management systems (Recommind and SharePoint desirable).
  • Solid legal research skills with the ability to summarise complex information clearly.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an approachable, friendly, and professional manner.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a varied workload and meet strict deadlines.
  • A resilient team player who takes initiative, adapts well to feedback, and thrives in a high-pressure environment.
