Job Title: Family Law Paralegal

Salary: £28,000 per annum

Location: Winnersh Triangle (on-site 2 days a week)

Contract: Full time; Permanent

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:30pm

The Role

As a Family Law Paralegal, you will support solicitors in delivering high-quality legal services to clients, with a particular focus on legally aided family matters. You will assist in progressing cases efficiently, preparing legal documentation, maintaining accurate case files and providing excellent client care, while developing your knowledge and career within a supportive team.

Responsibilities

Working under the supervision of a solicitor, you will:

  • Assist with non-molestation and occupation order applications, with opportunities to progress to private children matters.
  • Prepare Legal Aid applications and supporting documentation.
  • Draft court documents, correspondence and witness statements.
  • Review case documents and expert reports, undertake legal research and prepare court bundles.
  • Attend client conferences and court hearings, taking accurate attendance notes where required.
  • Ensure case management systems are kept up to date and that files remain accurate and compliant.
  • Support the progression of Family Law matters in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Assist senior members of the Family Law team.
  • Develop advocacy skills, with opportunities to undertake advocacy as your experience grows.

About You

We're looking for someone who has:

  • Legal qualification recognised in England and Wales.
  • Proven experience working within Family Law, including billing for Legal Aid cases.
  • Experience assisting with Family Law matters from initial instruction through to conclusion, while maintaining compliance and excellent client care.
  • Knowledge of the Family Procedure Rules, the Family Law Act 1996, Legal Aid Agency requirements and the SRA Standards and Regulations.
  • Strong organisational, communication and drafting skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
  • A proactive approach with a genuine commitment to achieving the best outcomes for clients.
  • Right to work in the UK, without the need for sponsorship.
