Full job description

We are seeking to appoint a Medical Services Lead to support our exemplary Whole School Pastoral Support provision here at Notre Dame School!

Our Academic and Extra-Curricular Pastoral Support plays a fundamental role across our whole school, from Prep School to Sixth Form.

We have comprehensive facilities for Medical & Wellbeing, Wellbeing Mentors and Dogs, dedicated wellbeing spaces, and an impressive schedule of extracurricular activities.

We are seeking a self-motivated individual who will play a crucial role in leading and fostering success in our School Nurse and Medical room provision for our students.

You will be an accomplished and inspiring Medical professional or Nurse with energy, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for supporting a love of learning in young people.

  • Manage and maintain pupil and staff medical records, ensuring accurate, confidential record-keeping, medication administration, and compliance with health and safety requirements.
  • Provide day-to-day medical care and first aid support, including assessing illnesses and injuries, responding to incidents and accidents, supporting school trips, sporting events, and the wider school community.
  • Lead and develop health education and training programmes, delivering First Aid training, INSET sessions, staff guidance, and contributing to PSHE and other health-related initiatives.
  • Oversee the operation of the Medical Centre, including line management of the Medical Room Team, stock control and procurement of medical supplies, safe storage of medicines and equipment, and maintenance of first aid resources across the school.

This role has the benefit of being term time so colleagues can access another role out of term time should they so wish.

Hours of work: Permanent, Term Time Plus 3 weeks, 5 days per week - 09:30-16:15

Remuneration:

£42,169-£44,623 FTE

£31,741.27 -£33,588.01 Actual
