Bring your expertise. Broaden your impact. Make a difference
Charles Taylor Assistance is looking for an experienced doctor to join our international medical assistance team, providing expert clinical advice across complex, high-priority and time-critical cases.
This is an exciting opportunity to take your medical expertise beyond the traditional clinical environment and play a vital role in supporting patients, families, clients and operational teams around the world.
Why Charles Taylor Assistance?
At Charles Taylor Assistance, our focus is simple: putting high-quality patient care at the heart of everything we do.
We are at the forefront of innovative patient safety and aviation initiatives, with more than 50 years of experience managing complex admissions across the world.
Our experienced medical teams cover a diverse range of clinical disciplines, including emergency medicine, mental health and intensive care.
The role
As a Medical Officer, you'll work alongside our team of experienced medical, nursing, and operational professionals, sharing your expertise, supporting colleagues, and helping to ensure great patient outcomes.
Every case brings a different challenge. You'll use your clinical judgement and expertise to:
- Provide expert medical advice, guidance and clinical opinion across assistance, claims, personal accident, and complex medical cases
- Liaise with patients, treating doctors and relatives where required
- Work closely with our travel and operational teams determining fitness to fly, medical clearance and commercial repatriation requirements
- Manage time critical medical evacuations and air ambulance repatriations
- Support medical escorts with clinical advice before and during patient repatriation
- Contribute to study days, medical teaching and training, helping develop both clinical and non-clinical colleagues
- Participate in weekend and Bank Holiday cover on a rota, supporting our 24/7/365 service — with no night work required
What makes you the right fit?
We're looking for a doctor who combines excellent clinical knowledge with sound judgement, compassion and a genuine desire to make a difference.
Essential skills required:
- A&E, Critical Care, Maritime or ICU experience with broad and relevant medical experience
- Primary medical degree with a minimum of 5 years post-graduate experience
- Current UK GMC registration with an unrestricted licence to practice
- Clinically confident, with broad medical experience and strong decision-making skills
- Calm under pressure, able to assess complex situations and make appropriate decisions in a fast-paced environment
- An excellent communicator, comfortable working with patients, families, medical professionals, insurers, and clients
- Proactive and solutions-focused, with a strong understanding of clinical and business risk
- Collaborative and energetic, with a genuine commitment to supporting colleagues and delivering the best possible patient outcomes
- Quality-focused, with high standards of professionalism and patient care
- Fully compliant with professional registration, appraisal, and revalidation requirements
What you'll bring
- Enhanced DBS certificate
- Unrestricted right to work in the UK
- Experience in travel medicine or international healthcare would be advantageous
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Excellent IT skills
- Fluency in English; additional languages would be an advantage
