The Product Development Assistant supports the Product Development team in the creation, development, and launch of new products across the health, wellness, vitamins, supplements, beauty, and lifestyle categories. This role provides administrative, project coordination, and analytical support to ensure product development projects are delivered efficiently and accurately.

The successful candidate will be highly organised, detail-oriented, and eager to develop a career in product development within a fast-paced commercial environment.

Key Responsibilities

Product Development Support

  • Assist in the coordination of new product development projects from concept through to launch.
  • Support the preparation and maintenance of product specifications, technical documentation, and product information.
  • Coordinate product samples, testing requests, product notifications and approvals.
  • Track project milestones and update critical path documentation.
  • Assist with product setup and launch activities.
  • Research NPD/EPD opportunities for all channels

Administration & Data Management

  • Maintain accurate product development records and databases.
  • Ensure product information is complete and up to date across internal systems.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and project documentation.
  • Organise and maintain supplier documentation and product files.
  • Support the management of product artwork and packaging approvals.

Market & Product Research

  • Conduct competitor and market research to identify product trends and innovation opportunities.
  • Assist in gathering consumer and category insights.
  • Support benchmarking exercises and product evaluations.
  • Prepare summary reports and recommendations for the Product Development team.

Compliance & Quality Support

  • Assist with gathering compliance documentation and supporting product approval processes.
  • Ensure product records are maintained in accordance with company procedures.
  • Support quality and regulatory teams by coordinating required information and documentation.
  • Help ensure product packaging and claims are accurately reflected in project documentation.

Essential

  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £28,000.00-£29,000.00 per year

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Leicester LE3: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
