Full job description
Eventus Legal are seeking an experienced Clinical Negligence Solicitor to join a highly regarded and expanding claimant Clinical Negligence team in the West Midlands.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Lawyer to take on a leadership-focused role, managing complex, high-value matters while playing a key part in mentoring junior lawyers and supporting the continued growth of the department.
Applications welcome from Senior Solicitor / Legal Director & Partner level.
This position would suit an ambitious and commercially aware Clinical Negligence Solicitor with strong technical expertise and previous experience handling complex brain injury and birth injury claims.
Role Responsibilities:
- Manage a varied caseload of complex and high-value claimant clinical negligence matters from instruction through to settlement or trial
- Handle serious injury cases including birth injury, cerebral palsy and brain injury claims
- Review and analyse medical evidence, expert reports, liability, causation and quantum issues
- Work closely with Counsel on litigation strategy, mediations and settlement negotiations
- Deliver exceptional client care to vulnerable clients and families during sensitive matters
- Supervise and mentor junior fee earners and support staff within the department
- Assist with departmental growth, strategic planning and continuous improvement initiatives
- Support business development activities and help maintain key referrer and professional relationships
- Ensure compliance with regulatory obligations, file management procedures and risk requirements
Person Specification:
Applications are encouraged from Clinical Negligence Solicitors who possess:
- Significant claimant Clinical Negligence experience handling complex and litigated matters
- Previous experience dealing with brain injury, cerebral palsy or other catastrophic injury claims
- Strong technical knowledge and confident litigation experience through to trial preparation
- Leadership or supervisory experience within a legal team
- Excellent communication and client care skills
- Commercial awareness and an understanding of business development
- The ability to mentor and support junior team members
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively
- AvMA accreditation or working towards panel membership would be advantageous
