This includes recovering insurers’ outlay where damage has been caused to customers’ property across both commercial and domestic premises, as well as managing an increasing number of defender instructions. The team offers high‑quality, varied work within a collaborative and supportive environment.
As Paralegal you will support senior team members on a varied commercial insurance caseload, gaining exposure to a broad range of property‑related claims while developing your technical, commercial and client‑facing skills. The role offers an excellent opportunity to build experience within a growing and well‑established insurance practice.
This is a hybrid role, with office attendance required 1–2 days per week.
- Assisting senior team members with a varied caseload including property casualty, property damage, product liability and subrogated recovery claims.
- Prioritising workload effectively to maximise efficiency and meet deadlines.
- Building and maintaining strong internal and external stakeholder relationships.
- Developing technical and commercial knowledge through training, supervision and day‑to‑day casework.
- Supporting the team in delivering a high standard of service to insurer clients.
Essential
- Relevant legal qualifications i.e. LLB, potentially LPC
- Previous experience working in a legal environment.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks to strict deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to assess files and sensitive information accurately.
- Strong IT skills, including proficient use of Microsoft Office.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable
- Experience within Commercial Insurance, particularly Property Damage and/or Recoveries (experience in similar areas will also be considered).
- A demonstrable desire to develop a long‑term career with DWF.
- An interest in expanding technical knowledge within commercial insurance and recovery work.
