Make a real difference through food, nutrition and wellbeing

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Group Nutritionist to join our growing care home group and help us raise the standard of food, nutrition and dining across our 20 care homes.

Food is a hugely important part of our residents' daily lives. It supports health, wellbeing and quality of life, but it is also about enjoyment, choice, dignity and creating positive mealtime experiences.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to take their nutrition expertise beyond an individual home and have a genuine group-wide impact.

The Role

Working closely with our Catering teams, you will help develop and embed consistently high standards of nutrition and catering across our homes.

You will combine nutrition expertise with practical catering knowledge, working alongside chefs, home managers and care teams to ensure residents receive nutritious, appealing and person-centred food.

You will spend time in our homes, building relationships with teams, reviewing menus and practices, identifying opportunities for improvement and supporting colleagues to deliver excellent dining experiences.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the development of Group-wide nutrition and catering standards.
• Reviewing and improving menus to ensure they are nutritious, varied, appealing and appropriate for older people.
• Providing practical advice on nutrition, hydration and food-first approaches.
• Supporting homes with residents who are at risk of malnutrition or dehydration.
• Working with chefs and catering teams to improve the nutritional value and presentation of meals.
• Supporting the management of special dietary requirements, allergies and individual nutritional needs.
• Developing practical resources, guidance and tools for our care homes.
• Carrying out regular nutrition and catering audits across the Group.
• Identifying areas for improvement and supporting homes to implement action plans.
• Delivering engaging nutrition and hydration training to care and catering teams.
• Working with residents and colleagues to understand food preferences and improve the dining experience.
• Supporting the development of nutrition and catering KPIs and reporting on progress.
• Keeping up to date with relevant nutritional guidance, legislation and best practice.
• Sharing good practice between our 20 homes and helping create a consistent Group approach.

About You

We are looking for someone who combines professional nutrition knowledge with a practical, hands-on approach.

You may currently be working as a Nutritionist, Dietetic Assistant, Catering/Nutrition Manager, Food & Nutrition Lead or in a similar role within health, social care, hospitality or care homes.

You will ideally have:

• A relevant degree or professional qualification in Nutrition, Dietetics, Food Science or a related discipline.
• Experience of working in nutrition, catering, preferably in healthcare or social care but not mandatory
• A good understanding of the nutritional needs of older people.
• Knowledge of malnutrition, hydration and food-first approaches.
• Experience of menu planning and/or nutritional analysis.
• Confidence delivering training and influencing teams.
• Experience of audits, quality improvement or compliance monitoring.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• A practical and solutions-focused approach.
• The ability to work independently across multiple locations.
• A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between our care homes.

Registered Nutritionist or Dietitian status would be advantageous but is not essential, depending on experience.
