Medical Physicist – Radiotherapy

Cromwell Hospital, London | Full-time, Permanent

Develop your career in MR-guided radiotherapy

Are you a Medical Physicist looking for your next opportunity in radiotherapy?

At GenesisCare, we’re looking for a Medical Physicist to join our team based at Cromwell Hospital in London. This is an opportunity to bring your existing radiotherapy physics experience into a highly specialist environment and develop your expertise in MR-guided radiotherapy.

You do not need previous MR-Linac experience to apply.

We recognise that experience of MR-Linac technology is highly specialised and that many excellent Medical Physicists will not yet have had the opportunity to work with it. What matters to us is your grounding in radiotherapy physics, your clinical experience and your interest in developing further.

You’ll receive in-house training and support to develop the specialist knowledge and competencies required to work with MR-Linac technology and MR-guided adaptive radiotherapy.

The opportunity

Working as part of our wider UK Medical Physics and Dosimetry team, you’ll support the safe and effective delivery of radiotherapy services at Cromwell Hospital.

Your role will include treatment planning and plan checking, patient dosimetry, Linac and imaging QA, dose calibration and supporting the wider multidisciplinary team in the delivery of high-quality radiotherapy.

Alongside this, we’ll support you to build your knowledge and practical experience of MR-guided radiotherapy, including online adaptive treatment workflows.

As your experience develops, you’ll have the opportunity to become increasingly involved in our MR-Linac service and work alongside experienced Physicists, Radiographers, Dosimetrists and Clinical Oncologists.

There are also opportunities to contribute to service development, innovation, research and the continued development of MR-guided radiotherapy across GenesisCare.

What we're looking for

We'd particularly like to hear from Medical Physicists with:

  • HCPC registration as a Clinical Scientist
  • Clinical experience within radiotherapy physics
  • Experience or knowledge of treatment planning, plan checking, dosimetry and/or radiotherapy QA
  • A good understanding of modern radiotherapy techniques
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary clinical team
  • An interest in developing specialist knowledge in MR-guided and adaptive radiotherapy

Previous MR-Linac or MR-guided radiotherapy experience is not required.

If you have a strong background in radiotherapy physics and would like the opportunity to develop into this specialist area, we'd encourage you to apply.

Why GenesisCare?

GenesisCare is one of the UK's leading independent providers of specialist cancer care, with centres across the country delivering advanced radiotherapy, medical oncology, diagnostics and theranostics.

We invest in advanced technology, but just as importantly, we invest in developing the people who use it.

This role provides an opportunity to build on your existing Medical Physics career while gaining experience and training in one of the most innovative areas of modern radiotherapy.

If you're an experienced Medical Physicist who's interested in MR-guided radiotherapy but hasn't previously had the opportunity to work with an MR-Linac, we'd still very much like to hear from you.

Benefits:

  • Company pension
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Employee discount
  • Free flu jabs
  • On-site gym
  • Private dental insurance
  • Private medical insurance
  • Referral programme
  • Relocation assistance
  • Sick pay
