Practice Operations Manager / CQC Registered Manager

Salary: £40,000–£55,000 depending on experience, plus performance-related annual bonus up to £7,500
Location: Remote-first, UK-based, with occasional paid travel if required
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent

About us

Balance My Hormones is an established private healthcare provider supporting patients across the UK with clinically supervised TRT and hormone replacement therapy.

We are growing and are looking for an experienced healthcare operations leader to take ownership of operational delivery, patient experience, team performance and regulatory readiness across our UK practice.

The role

As Practice Operations Manager, you will lead the day-to-day operations of the UK practice and, subject to CQC approval, act as our CQC Registered Manager.

You will report directly to the founder and work closely with the clinical leadership team. This is a senior operational role with real authority, clear targets and meaningful influence over how the service develops.

Clinical decisions remain with the clinical leads. Your role is to make sure the operation runs safely, consistently, efficiently and in line with regulatory expectations.

What you will own

You will be responsible for:

  • Day-to-day operational performance of the UK practice
  • Leadership of the management team and their direct reports
  • Patient experience, complaints handling, service levels and quality improvement
  • CQC readiness, audits, action plans, training compliance and regulatory processes
  • Information governance, GDPR, significant events and operational risk management
  • Remote team performance, accountability, communication and productivity
  • Operational KPIs, dashboards, reporting and agreed commercial targets
  • Working with the founder and clinical leads to improve systems, processes and patient outcomes

About you

You are an experienced, hands-on healthcare operator who understands both patient care and commercial delivery.

Essential experience:

  • Current or previous CQC Registered Manager experience, or strong evidence of suitability and willingness to apply promptly
  • Experience managing regulated healthcare, private clinic, digital health, GP, dental, pharmacy, wellbeing or comparable patient-facing services
  • Experience managing managers, not just frontline staff
  • Strong understanding of CQC expectations, quality governance, information governance and GDPR
  • Proven ability to improve patient experience or customer service metrics
  • Comfortable using KPIs, dashboards and financial/operational reporting
  • Experience leading remote or hybrid teams
  • Clear understanding of the boundary between operational management and clinical autonomy
  • Right to work in the UK and willingness to complete required checks for the role

Desirable but not essential:

  • TRT, HRT, men’s health, women’s health or telehealth experience
  • Experience scaling a healthcare service through a growth phase
  • CIPD qualification or practical HR management experience
  • Experience preparing for or supporting CQC inspections

Package

  • £45,000–£55,000 base salary depending on experience
  • Performance-related annual bonus up to £7,500
  • 25 days annual leave
  • Mostly remote /partly hybrid but intially mostly remote
