Bank Paramedic Practitioner

Fuse Health is a clinician-founded healthcare provider delivering urgent and primary care services across Derby and Derbyshire.

We’re expanding our clinical bank and looking for experienced Paramedic Practitioners who want flexible work without stepping away from meaningful frontline clinical practice.

You’ll work across our Acute Clinic and Home Visiting services, assessing and treating patients with a broad range of urgent and same-day healthcare needs.

This is autonomous clinical work, but you won’t be working without support. You’ll be part of an experienced multidisciplinary team, with access to senior clinicians and GPs when you need them.

Whether you’re looking for regular bank shifts or occasional work alongside another role, study or family commitments, you can choose the shifts that work for you.

What you’ll be doing

Depending on your experience and agreed scope of practice, you will:

• Assess, diagnose and manage patients presenting with urgent and same-day health needs
• Undertake home visits to housebound, frail and elderly patients
• Develop appropriate treatment and management plans
• Recognise deterioration and manage clinical risk
• Make safe decisions around treatment, referral, escalation and admission avoidance
• Work collaboratively with GPs, ACPs, community teams and secondary-care services
• Maintain clear, accurate and timely clinical records
• Practise within your competence, agreed scope and HCPC professional standards

Your caseload and clinical scope will reflect your experience, qualifications and demonstrated competence.

Bank working that works around you

There are no minimum or guaranteed hours.

Available shifts are released to our bank clinicians and you choose the shifts you want to work.

Our services predominantly operate Monday to Friday during daytime hours, making this a good option for clinicians looking for additional work without committing to nights or a fixed rota.

Before working independently, you’ll receive an induction and orientation to the relevant service, systems and clinical pathways.

What we’re looking for

You will need:

• Current HCPC registration as a Paramedic
• At least 3 years’ relevant post-registration experience
• Post-registration education in clinical assessment, minor illness and/or minor injury at Level 6 or 7
• Experience within urgent, emergency, primary or out-of-hours care
• Strong clinical assessment and autonomous decision-making skills
• Confidence recognising deterioration and escalating clinical concerns
• Experience of managing risk and working independently in community settings
• Excellent communication and clinical record-keeping skills
• Up-to-date statutory and mandatory training
• A strong commitment to safeguarding, infection prevention and patient safety
• A full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle

Even better if you have

• Non-Medical Prescribing qualification
• Advanced Life Support certification
• Primary care or home-visiting experience
• Experience managing frailty, older people and long-term conditions
• Previous bank, locum or sessional experience
