Overview of Role

As a laboratory technician you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, broaden your analytical and chemical product development skills and experience working in the laboratory of a first-class chemical manufacturer. For the right candidate there may be possibilities for future career advancement within a growing team.

We are looking for an organized, self-motivated, enthusiastic and disciplined team member to assist in the laboratory practices at our Kings Lynn site.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation and Chemical Analyses of samples and reporting of results
• Other Laboratory work depending on business requirements.
• Equipment troubleshooting, maintenance and housekeeping
• Quality control of production samples
• Evaluation of raw material samples
• Working in accordance with good laboratory practice and guidelines
• Labelling and storage of samples
• Assist in developing new formulations
• Assist in developing and testing of new products
• Assist with lab-scale and pilot plant scale product performance simulations
• Engage actively in the implementation and maintenance of ISO 17025.
• Engage actively and assist in the continuous laboratory performance optimization
• Assisting in general laboratory duties such as stock control and ordering of chemicals etc.
• Assist in project work to improve product performance

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

• A degree in chemistry, biology, chemical engineering or of similar disciplines is essential (will consider HNC or HND etc)
• General applied chemistry knowledge is essential, producing reliable test results
• Excellent analytical skills
• Demonstrable capability of working with complex mixtures.
• Experience in using inductively coupled plasma (ICP), gas chromatography (GC) and segmented flow analyser (SFA) units is an advantage but not essential as training will be provided
• Experience in analysis of biological wastewater and anaerobic digestion samples is an advantage, but not essential as training will be provided.
• Successful development and timely completion of self-directed projects
• Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) is essential.
• Experience with engagement in ISO 17025 preferred.
• Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems preferred
• Effective communication at all levels
• Ability to communicate and effectively deliver accurate laboratory results.
• Excellent time management and organisational skills
• Be a good team worker demonstrating loyalty and commitment to the Company and other team members
• Self-motivated, energetic, dependable with a clear attention to detail and able to work independently
• Be flexible with working hours when required in order to deliver the service required by our customers
• Full UK Driving Licence
• A team player with a strong fit to the OMEX vision & values

This is a full time position, working 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday
