Experienced Practice Nurse – Hibaldstow Medical Practice

Experienced Practice Nurses only – previous General Practice experience is essential.

As an experienced Practice Nurse at Hibaldstow Medical Practice, you will play a vital role in delivering safe, effective and compassionate care to our patients.

This is an established Practice Nurse position and we are looking for someone who can work confidently and independently within General Practice from day one. Applicants must have substantial previous experience working as a Practice Nurse in a General Practice setting. This role is not suitable for newly qualified nurses or nurses without previous Practice Nursing experience.

Working within your scope of practice, you will assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care whilst promoting health, preventing illness and supporting patients to manage their own health and wellbeing.

You will lead and support Long-Term Condition clinics, undertake treatment room procedures, contribute to QOF achievement and participate in national screening and vaccination programmes. You will work closely with GPs and the wider practice team to provide coordinated, evidence-based care and ensure patients receive a high standard of patient-centred service.

We are looking for a Registered Adult Nurse with proven experience in General Practice, who is confident managing a varied clinical workload and is passionate about delivering high-quality patient care.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

• Previous experience working as a Practice Nurse within General Practice – essential.

• Current NMC registration.
• Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
• Experience managing a varied Practice Nurse workload.

• The ability to work independently whilst contributing positively to a multidisciplinary team.
• Good IT skills and confidence using electronic clinical systems, including SystmOne.

Who We Are Looking For

We are specifically seeking an experienced Practice Nurse with a proven track record of working within General Practice.

You should be able to demonstrate confidence in managing patients independently, undertaking clinical assessments, delivering treatment room care and supporting the management of Long-Term Conditions.

Previous Practice Nursing experience is essential. Applications from newly qualified nurses or nurses without previous General Practice experience will not be considered.

Essential Criteria

• Registered Adult Nurse with current NMC registration.
• Substantial previous experience working as a Practice Nurse within General Practice.
• Demonstrable experience of working independently within a GP practice environment.
• Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD).
• Experience delivering high-quality nursing care within a primary care or clinical setting.
• Experience undertaking patient assessment and delivering evidence-based care.
• Experience managing Long-Term Conditions (LTCs), including diabetes, asthma, COPD, hypertension and cardiovascular disease.
• Experience of treatment room nursing, including wound care, venepuncture and specimen collection.
• Experience maintaining accurate electronic clinical records.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Understanding of infection prevention and control, safeguarding and clinical governance.
• Commitment to delivering safe, evidence-based and patient-centred care.
• Right to work in the UK.

Desirable Criteria

• Experience supporting Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) and Enhanced Services.
• Cervical Cytology qualification.
• Experience delivering childhood, adult and seasonal immunisations and vaccinations.
• Experience delivering NHS Health Checks.
• Spirometry competency.
• Independent Prescriber qualification.
• Experience participating in clinical audit and quality improvement.
• Experience supervising or supporting Healthcare Assistants, Nursing Associates or student nurses.

Pay: £21.21 per hour
