This flexible Occupational Health Advisor role is a highly important position within the organisation with the potential to progress and grow within an exciting young business.

The Occupational Health Advisor will take ownership of clinical tasks for the business, primarily carrying out remote telephone and video consultations following referral or fitness to work assessment. You may also be involved in: Triaging Case Management, Sign-off of Health surveillance and Safety-Critical medicals carried out by our Technicians, whilst maintaining strong commercial awareness.

This is a flexible home and/or office-based role covering our Clients across the whole of the UK.

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Health Advisor who can confidently work alone and has a proactive can-do attitude and a resilient personality.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record providing Case Management, Health Surveillance screening, Fitness for Work, Safety-Critical, and New Starter clearance to clients in a variety of different industries and sectors.

Full-Time or Part-Time Opportunities available.

The key duties of the post are as follows:

  • Conducting Video / Telephone Occupational Health ill health/ management referrals
  • Triaging of cases
  • New starter screening
  • Workplace Assessments including Display Screen Equipment and Pregnant Worker Risk Assessments
  • Sign off of Health Surveillance carried out by OH Technicians
  • Comprehensive record keeping and adhering to the Valentine and NMC/ NMBI confidentiality policy and procedure
  • Provide Clinical advice on queries raised by our clients.
  • Liaising with other Nurses, Doctors, Client contacts and Client employees as appropriate
  • To feedback on general and specific information regarding the client contract to the Senior Management team as appropriate and within the bounds of confidentiality
  • Able to work autonomously within the role, making independent clinical decisions
  • Ensure adherence to legislation and external regulatory frameworks such as SEQOSH/ NMC/ NMBI / RCN
  • Preparation of reports following a clinic, to be issued appropriately and securely, uploaded to the Valentine Orchid Live system when required. Ensuring all data consent requirements are adhered to
  • Participate in clinical audits as appropriate
  • Responding to emails in an orderly and appropriate manner
  • To keep abreast of changing legislation, clinical practice and clinical managerial styles that may affect the role of the Occupational Health Advisor
  • Attending regular training and development sessions
  • Taking part in Meetings / Team Meetings
  • Regular use of Orchid Live Occupational Health Software

You may also from time to time be involved in:

· Health Screening and Surveillance

· Management of ad hoc Occupational Health issues

· Attending supervised client/prospect visits as required

· Assisting in training
