Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and professional Dental Hygienist to join our clinical team in the British Virgin Islands. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality preventative dental care, leading patient education initiatives, and supporting the comprehensive oral health of our patients. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment, utilizing your specialized clinical skills to elevate patient outcomes and promote long-term oral health awareness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clinical Care: Perform comprehensive professional dental cleanings, including precise scaling and root planning/polishing to effectively remove plaque, tartar, and calculus build-up.
  • Assessments & Diagnostics: Conduct thorough oral health assessments, perform periodontal screenings, and accurately document all findings within patient electronic records.
  • Advanced Diagnostics: Capture and interpret high-quality dental radiographs (X-rays) and digital diagnostics utilizing advanced medical imaging techniques.
  • Preventative Treatments: Administer prophylactic and preventive treatments, including the application of topical fluorides, pit and fissure sealants, and other desensitizing agents.
  • Patient Education: Educate and counsel patients on individualized oral hygiene strategies, nutritional choices affecting oral health, and post-treatment care.
  • Clinical Support & Compliance: Maintain stringent sterilization and infection control protocols, ensuring all clinical areas and dental instruments are prepared to the highest health and safety standards.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate closely with dentists and specialists during complex multidisciplinary procedures to ensure seamless patient care flow.
  • Innovation & Technology: Stay abreast of the latest advancements in dental hygiene methodologies, emerging clinical technologies, digital medical imaging advancements, and integrated CAD/CAM workflow systems.

Position Requirements

  • Qualifications: A recognized degree or diploma in Dental Hygiene from an accredited institution, with valid registration/licensure (or eligibility to register) with the relevant professional dental boards.
  • Experience: Proven experience operating successfully as a Dental Hygienist within a fast-paced clinical or hospital setting.
  • Clinical Knowledge: Strong fundamental command of oral anatomy, pathology, and periodontology to confidently assess, identify, and record patient conditions.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with digital radiography, modern medical imaging systems, and an understanding of CAD workflows utilized for treatment planning and digital restorations.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to convey clinical concepts to patients in an accessible, empathetic, and encouraging manner.
  • Organization: Excellent time-management and organizational capabilities to efficiently manage patient schedules while maintaining uncompromised care standards.
  • Team Dynamics: A strong commitment to working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment while strictly adhering to regulatory healthcare guidelines.

This is a fully compensated, paid position. Pay: £31,485.00-£46,477.00 per year
