If you're looking for a career that combines advanced technology with meaningful patient care — and a lifestyle that lets you thrive outside of work too — New Zealand is ready for you.

About the role

As a Radiation Therapist with Health New Zealand, you'll work within collaborative, flat-structured teams delivering high-quality cancer care using world-class technology. You'll have the opportunity to rotate across the full patient journey — and wherever you're coming from, we'll support you to grow your scope as you settle in.

Day to day you'll:

  • Plan, simulate and deliver radiation therapy treatment as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist
  • Work with advanced linear accelerators including Varian TrueBeam, Halcyon and Elekta Versa HD
  • Use leading treatment planning systems including Eclipse, RayStation and Monaco
  • Build lasting connections with patients and their whānau throughout their treatment
  • Contribute to quality assurance, service development and continuous improvement
  • Support and mentor students and new staff as you grow in the role

A note on scope: If your current scope doesn't include planning, don't let that put you off — we'll work with you to develop and expand your practice once you're here.

Automatic annual progression with merit-based advancement at higher steps

Plus on-call allowances and penal rates for rostered shifts.

Leave:

  • At least 10 sick days annually
  • 12 paid public holidays annually
  • 14-weeks of paid parental leave, alongside the government's 26 weeks

Benefits:

  • Funded Continuing Professional Development (CPD) leave and allowance, plus postgraduate study support
  • Professional indemnity insurance fully covered by Health NZ
  • 3% employer superannuation contribution

What you'll need
