Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and professional Qualified Dental Nurse/Receptionist to join our dental practice. The role will mainly be reception based, and some nursing cover if required. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care while efficiently managing reception duties. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to utilise their nursing and administrative skills in a friendly, patient-focused environment. The successful applicant will be organised, communicative, and committed to maintaining high standards of dental care and customer service.

Duties

  • Assist dentists during clinical procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety
  • Prepare treatment rooms and sterilise equipment in accordance with health and safety regulations
  • Manage patient records accurately and confidentially using IT systems
  • Greet patients warmly upon arrival, ensuring a smooth check-in process
  • Schedule appointments, confirm bookings, and reschedule as necessary
  • Handle telephone enquiries professionally, providing information and support to patients
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the reception area and clinical spaces
  • Support with administrative tasks such as invoicing, filing, and updating patient information
  • Educate patients on post-treatment care and answer queries effectively

Skills

  • Proven experience as a Dental Nurse with relevant qualifications recognised within the UK GDC
  • Strong patient care skills with a compassionate approach
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
  • Proficient IT skills, including familiarity with dental practice management software and MS Office programmes
  • Organised with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Outstanding organisational skills to manage appointments and maintain accurate records
  • Good team player with effective interpersonal skills to liaise with colleagues and patients alike
