Overview

We are looking to recruit an experienced, professional and organised dental receptionist to join our team at the Winslow Dental Practice for minimum of 28 hours per week.

We are a long established busy private practice in a beautiful market town, with an excellent and long standing reputation for high levels of patient centred care. We offer general dentistry as well as advanced restorative treatments, including implants .

This role is vital in ensuring the smooth operation of the front desk and providing an excellent patient journey. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing appointments, handling administrative tasks, and supporting the dental team to deliver high-quality care. Previous office or administrative experience is essential as is a friendly, approachable demeanour . This position offers an opportunity to work in a welcoming environment with a focus on patient satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival, ensuring a positive first impression.
  • Manage appointment scheduling efficiently, including booking, confirming, and rescheduling as needed.
  • Handle patient check-in and check-out processes accurately and promptly.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and update information within the practice management system.
  • Answer phone calls, respond to enquiries, and direct calls appropriately.
  • Process payments, insurance claims, and billing procedures with attention to detail.
  • Support the dental team with administrative tasks such as filing, correspondence, and stock management.
  • Ensure the reception area remains clean, organised, and welcoming at all times.
  • Assist with maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations within the practice.
  • Holiday/sickness cover.

Skills

  • Previous dental or administrative experience is highly desirable.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a friendly telephone manner.
  • Proficiency in using computer software such as Microsoft Office and dental practice management systems.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Professional appearance and demeanour suitable for a healthcare environment.
  • Ability to work as part of a team whilst also demonstrating independence in completing tasks.

The position is for a minimum of 3.5 days/week, Tues, Wed, Thurs and and Friday (am) however there may be some flexibility on the days.

Experience of managing reception/holding a position(s) of responsibility within previous practice/employment essential

Full on-site training is provided

To start 1st Sept 2026

Salary £14-16.00/hr depending on experience
