Work Independently: Use your initiative to keep things moving smoothly, even when working solo.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a meticulous, organised, and reliable individual to join our team as an Optical Operations Assistant. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring that care home residents receive their prescription eyewear accurately and efficiently.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys independent work, possesses excellent organisational skills, and has a keen eye for detail. You will primarily manage the processing and dispatch of spectacles, while also providing occasional support to our main office administrator.

Key Responsibilities

  • Spectacle Processing: Check incoming glasses for accuracy, organise them into specific care home orders, and carefully label each pair with the correct resident’s name.
  • Dispatch & Logistics: Prepare completed orders for dispatch and coordinate with our opticians for final delivery.
  • Laboratory Liaison: Communicate regularly with the spectacle laboratory to track orders, ensure correct processing, and guarantee timely delivery back to our hub.
  • Administrative Support: Spend a small portion of your time assisting the office administrator with general day-to-day tasks.

What We Are Looking For

  • Independent Worker: Able to manage your own workload efficiently without constant supervision.
  • Exceptional Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy when checking orders and matching names to prescriptions.
  • Neat Hand Writing: Essential for clear, legible labeling of resident spectacles.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Confident when liaising with external laboratories and internal team members.
  • Reliable & Organised: Able to meet deadlines so deliveries are never delayed.
