Resilience Receptionist - South Warwickshire GP Federation

Location: The successful applicant must be willing to travel to practices across South Warwickshire. Due to the nature of the role, applicants must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle.

Salary: £12.71 per hour.

Job type: 0 hour contract.

About the Role

South Warwickshire GP Federation is seeking an enthusiastic and adaptable GP Receptionist to join our Resilience Team.

This is a varied and rewarding role supporting practices across South Warwickshire, where no two days are the same. The successful candidate will have excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills, alongside experience working within a GP or healthcare setting.

You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, support patients with their healthcare needs, and assist practices with a wide range of administrative and reception duties.

Key Responsibilities

Reception & Patient Support

  • Answering surgery phone lines and managing patient queries
  • Greeting and checking in patients in a professional and friendly manner
  • Scheduling and confirming appointments both in person and over the phone
  • Signposting patients to appropriate services and providing high-quality information to support their care
  • Supporting patients and carers to navigate health and care services

Administrative Duties

  • Coordinating new patient registrations and EMIS online proxy forms
  • Maintaining accurate patient records and updating healthcare information where required
  • Accurately SNOMED-coding data into EMIS Web
  • Supporting clinical staff with general administrative tasks
  • Filing, scanning, faxing, and document management
  • Coordinating referrals to external healthcare providers

Team & Service Support

  • Building positive relationships with practice staff, service users, and healthcare professionals
  • Supporting improvement and sustainability projects where appropriate
  • Working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
  • Ensuring confidentiality and compliance with information governance, safeguarding, and health & safety policies
  • Remaining calm, professional, and adaptable within a fast-paced NHS environment
