Full job description

Eyesite Eyecare Centres is a well-established, multi-award-winning independent opticians with practices across Coventry. We pride ourselves on providing exceptional eye care, high-quality eyewear and a friendly, personal service to our patients.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and professional Optical Advisor to join our team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people and takes pride in providing outstanding service. Previous optical experience would be an advantage, but we are also happy to consider candidates with strong customer service experience and the right attitude, as full training will be provided.

There are excellent opportunities to develop your knowledge and skills within optics and progress your career as part of a growing independent practice group.

The Role

As an Optical Advisor, you will play an important part in the patient journey, from welcoming patients into the practice through to helping them choose their new eyewear and ensuring they receive an excellent experience.

Following training, your responsibilities will include:

  • Welcoming patients and providing a friendly, professional experience
  • Helping patients select frames that suit their lifestyle, prescription and personal style
  • Providing information and advice about our lenses, products, services and current offers
  • Supporting the dispensing of single vision, bifocal and varifocal lenses
  • Assisting with the smooth running of clinics and supporting our Optometrists before and after eye examinations
  • Booking appointments and dealing with patient enquiries in person and over the telephone
  • Accurately updating patient records and practice management systems
  • Handling confidential patient information appropriately and in accordance with data protection requirements
  • Assembling and checking spectacle orders
  • Carrying out minor spectacle adjustments and repairs following training
  • Supporting general administrative duties and the day-to-day running of the practice
  • Working with colleagues across our Coventry practices when required

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a genuine passion for providing excellent patient care
  • Is friendly, approachable and confident when speaking with people
  • Communicates clearly and professionally, both face-to-face and over the telephone
  • Has excellent written and spoken English
  • Is organised, reliable and pays close attention to detail
  • Demonstrates care, patience and empathy when dealing with patients
  • Enjoys working as part of a team while also being able to use their own initiative
  • Is comfortable learning new systems, products and clinical terminology
  • Takes pride in maintaining high professional standards
  • Is flexible and able to work across our Coventry locations when required

Previous experience within optics, healthcare, retail or customer service would be beneficial, but attitude, professionalism and a willingness to learn are equally important to us.

Working Hours

This is a full-time position working five days per week, including Saturdays.

Why Join Eyesite?

At Eyesite, we want our team members to develop rather than simply have a job. You will receive ongoing training and support to develop your optical knowledge, patient-care skills and understanding of our products and services.

As a growing independent optical group, there are opportunities for the right people to take on additional responsibility and progress their careers within the business.

If you are passionate about helping people, enjoy working as part of a professional team and would like to build a career in optics, we would love to hear from you.

To apply, please send us your CV along with a brief introduction telling us why you would like to join the Eyesite team.
