About us

We are looking for a receptionist to join our friendly and supportive team of GPs, Nurse practitioners, Practice Nurses, Healthcare Assistants and non-clinical team members at Wragby Surgery. The surgery is purpose-built and our mission is to provide high-quality, friendly and accessible primary healthcare to our patients, in the town of Wragby and the surrounding villages.

About the role

As a Receptionist, you will be responsible for a range of patient-facing and administrative tasks including:

  • Greeting, assisting and directing patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.
  • Providing general assistance to the Practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone
  • Answering telephone calls and dealing with face to face enquiries.
  • Scheduling appointments for patients.
  • Dealing with all requests in an efficient and courteous manner.
  • Screening enquiries for the doctors and medical staff.
  • Registering new patients at the surgery.
  • Accurately collecting information and personal details about patients.
  • Updating the surgery's computer system with appointments and personal details.
  • Receiving urine and blood samples and sending them off to hospital laboratories.
  • Contacting patients as requested by the clinical team.
  • Maintaining a clean reception and waiting area to show a professional image.

About you

We require a Medical Receptionist with initiative, drive, strong interpersonal, admin and IT skills. You will need to be a good communicator, with excellent interpersonal and customer service skills; especially under pressure. A caring, empathetic character is essential. System1 and experience of working in a GP practice is preferred but training will be provided for the right candidate.

Pay: £13.00 per hour
