We are a large and busy GP surgery with around 12,200 patients, located on Ferry Road. We are looking to welcome a new enthusiastic receptionist to join our friendly team.

The role involves being the first point of contact for our patients and providing administrative support to the GPs.

Salary:

Hours:

  • Full-time
  • Condensed hours 37.5hrs per week, Monday 08:00-17:30, Tuesday 08:00-18:00, Wednesday 08:00-18:00 and Friday 08:00-18:00
  • Permanent
  • Would consider Modern Apprentice applications, for those who are keen to develop a career in a GP Practice, for further information and criteria please get in touch . Pay may differ.

Duties include:

  • Welcoming patients to the practice
  • Booking appointments
  • Signposting patients to other services, example local Pharmacy where appropriate
  • Answering telephone queries
  • Scanning and filing documents to patient’s records
  • Managing email inboxes
  • Processing prescription requests accurately, and ensure they are sent to the correct pharmacy
  • General administrative tasks- photocopying, emailing and filling
  • Helping ensure the smooth running of the practice
  • Understanding rules relating to patient confidentiality (GDPR)
  • Attending staff meetings and team training sessions
  • Ensuring the procedures are followed for closing of the surgery

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills and telephone skills
  • Computer literate
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure
  • Pleasant and caring approach
  • Adhere to confidentiality at all times
