Full job description

We are a small, friendly, GP practice serving 4500 patients. We provide our patients and staff with a friendly, caring environment and aim to deliver the best possible care to our patients and believe in putting our patients first.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, self motivated, flexible person to join our reception/administration team. The position is 18 hours a week and covering Extended access, holidays and sick when required. Experience in a primary care setting is advantageous, as is a knowledge of System One. The candidate should have excellent interpersonal skills and effective written and verbal communication skills as well as a high level of attention to detail and eagerness to learn new skills. They will be working with a small group of receptionists/ administrators to provide clerical support to the clinical team.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will, alongside our reception team, ensure the smooth running of reception and be able to prioritise workload as appropriate. They will answer telephone enquiries in a prompt, efficient and helpful manner and also to liaise with hospitals and other outside agencies.

The reception team is responsible for the provision of efficient and comprehensive secretarial support to the practice. Duties should be undertaken in an accurate, professional and methodical manner at all times.

Duties include but are not limited too:

Ensure the smooth running of reception and prioritise workload as appropriate

Answer telephone enquiries in a prompt, efficient manner.

To actively manage and respond to patient tasks prioritising when appropriate.

To liaise with hospitals and other outside agencies.

To deal with patient enquiries professionally and sympathetically.

To provide secretarial support to the practice.

To provide additional and administrative support to the practice when required

You will be required to undertake all other duties that are reasonably asked of you
