Full job description

Front of House / Dental ReceptionistDentistry @ Holme – Slaithwaite

We are looking for an exceptionally capable, professional and switched-on Front of House / Dental Receptionist to join our fully private dental practice in Slaithwaite.

This is not your average reception position.

We are looking for someone intelligent, highly organised and naturally attentive to detail, who understands that exceptional patient care starts from the moment a patient walks through the door. This is a busy and varied role that requires a high level of responsibility, confidence and initiative.

If you are looking for an easy, quiet reception job, this probably isn't the position for you.

We are looking for someone who takes genuine pride in their work and wants to be part of a high-performing private dental team where standards are exceptionally high.

✳ About the Role

As the first point of contact for our patients, you will play a key role in creating the professional and welcoming experience our practice is known for.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Answering telephone calls professionally and confidently
  • Greeting and looking after patients in a warm, friendly and professional manner
  • Managing the front of house and ensuring the reception area is always immaculate
  • Responding to patient enquiries via email, requiring excellent written communication skills
  • Booking and managing appointments
  • Discussing dental treatments confidently and in appropriate detail with patients
  • Explaining membership plans and finance options
  • Handling confidential and sensitive patient information with complete discretion
  • Supporting patients with treatment-related queries and helping them understand their options
  • Supporting our clinicians and management team
  • Assisting with the smooth day-to-day running of the practice
  • Working closely with the wider team to ensure an exceptional patient journey from enquiry through to treatment and beyond

You will need to be comfortable having detailed conversations about dentistry and discussing treatment with patients in a professional and reassuring manner.

✳ Who We're Looking For

Dental experience is essential.

Experience using Dentally would be a significant advantage, although full training can be provided for the right candidate.

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Exceptionally well presented and professional
  • Well spoken, articulate and confident
  • Intelligent, switched-on and able to use their own initiative
  • Highly organised with an exceptional eye for detail
  • An excellent verbal and written communicator
  • Confident discussing dental treatment, membership plans and finance options
  • Calm and capable of working under pressure
  • Discreet and trustworthy when dealing with confidential information
  • Naturally warm, friendly and approachable
  • Comfortable working as part of a close-knit team
  • Proactive rather than someone who needs constant direction
  • Able to prioritise and manage multiple tasks at once
  • Someone who genuinely cares about providing an outstanding patient experience

Attention to detail is particularly important in this role. We work to a very high standard, and the successful candidate will need to be someone who notices the small things, takes responsibility and consistently strives to get things right.

✳ Hours

We are able to offer full-time or part-time hours.

Please note that a minimum of two Saturday mornings per month is required, with additional Saturday mornings available if preferred.

For a full-time position, the working pattern would be:

4 weekdays + a minimum of 2 Saturday mornings per month

Saturday hours are 9am–1pm.

✳ What We Offer

  • From £14.00 per hour Monday–Friday
  • £20.00 per hour on Saturdays
  • Full-time or part-time opportunities
  • Generous holiday arrangements
  • Company pension
  • Free dental care for yourself and your immediate family*
  • Career development opportunities
  • The opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills within a highly regarded private dental practice
  • A professional, supportive and ambitious team environment

* Free dental care is available following successful completion of the probationary period.

✳ Location

The role will be primarily based at our Slaithwaite practice.

From time to time, you may be required to provide reception cover at our Holmfirth practice, depending on the needs of the business.

Having your own transport would therefore be beneficial.

✳ Why Join Us?

Dentistry @ Holme is a fully private dental practice with a strong focus on providing an exceptional standard of patient care.

We are looking for someone who wants to be more than simply the person behind the reception desk. You will become an important part of the patient journey and will work closely with our clinicians and management team.

This is a role for someone who enjoys being busy, takes pride in doing things properly and thrives in an environment where high standards, attention to detail and professionalism really matter.

If you believe you have the experience, personality and attention to detail we are looking for, we would love to hear from you.

Only the best need apply.

✳ How to Apply

To apply, please email your CV, for the attention of Joanne Brown, Assistant Practice Manager.
