Remote Primary Care Clinical Coder – Flexible Agency Work

£13.38 per hour + rolled-up holiday pay (£15.00 per hour total)
Fully Remote | Flexible Shifts | Employed Agency Worker

Are you an experienced NHS Primary Care Clinical Coder looking for genuine flexibility in your working hours?

Med Match Hub is recruiting experienced Primary Care Clinical Coders to join our pool of employed agency workers, undertaking temporary remote assignments with GP practices and primary care organisations across the UK.

This role is ideal if you want to work around childcare, another job, family commitments or other responsibilities, while continuing to use your NHS clinical coding experience.

Choose shifts that work for you

We offer flexible working, allowing you to choose from available shifts that fit around your own availability and commitments, subject to client requirements and shift availability.

You don't need to commit to a traditional Monday-to-Friday working pattern. You can choose shifts that work for you.

What you'll be doing

You will undertake remote clinical coding and primary care data-quality work, reviewing patient records, clinical correspondence, hospital letters, investigation results and other clinical information.

You may be required to identify and record diagnoses, long-term conditions, clinical measurements, blood results, QOF indicators and other relevant information within patient records.

You will review correspondence such as hospital and outpatient letters and identify information that needs to be coded or recorded within the patient's primary care record.

As an agency worker, you may work with different primary care organisations, each with its own processes and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

You must therefore be comfortable reading, understanding and following different SOPs and adapting to different workflows.

The ability to follow instructions accurately and consistently, while adapting to the requirements of each organisation, is essential.

Essential requirements

You must have previous NHS Primary Care clinical coding experience and practical experience using at least one of the following:

EMIS Web | SystmOne | Docman

You must also have:

  • An active NHS email address
  • An active NHS Smartcard with appropriate access
  • Your own Windows 11 computer with a minimum of 8GB RAM
  • Reliable internet access
  • A suitable private environment for remote working

Applications will not be considered if you do not have practical experience with at least one of EMIS Web, SystmOne or Docman.

Who we're looking for

We're looking for experienced coders who are accurate, reliable, adaptable and comfortable working independently.

You should have a good understanding of primary care clinical coding and be confident reviewing clinical correspondence and patient records to identify relevant information.

You should also understand the importance of confidentiality, NHS information governance and maintaining accurate patient records.
