Please note this vacancy is only for part time role

Highly competitive GP Practice in Wanstead-Redbridge, looking for a receptionist to join our friendly team on part time basis 20 to 24 hours per week.

We are looking for an individual who is hard-working, approachable, friendly and enthusiastic. Our ideal candidate would have excellent communication and customer service skills, be fluent in both written and spoken English and have a positive approach to flexible working hours.

Previous NHS experience or similar. Applicants should be able to multi-task and remain calm and competent working in a very busy environment. In this role, you will be expected to perform and be competent in the following tasks as part of your daily duties:

  • Answering phones and booking and cancelling appointments
  • Booking patients in on arrival or directing patients to the correct consult rooms
  • Action repeats prescription requests and prescription enquiries
  • Action patient enquiries and patient notes on EMIS Web
  • Answering general enquiries at the reception desk, explaining procedures, receive and hand out repeat prescriptions (using identified protocol), make new and follow up appointments for all surgery clinicians.
  • Have knowledge of responsibility regarding Health and Safety at Work Act.
  • Take responsibility for specific allocated tasks e.g. prescriptions, scanning, stock update, patient record administration etc.
  • Responsibility for contacting patients to book appointments for reviews and chronic disease recall registers
  • GDPR competence & Child and Adult safeguarding awareness and compliance

Our surgery hours are 8am to 6.30pm Mon-Fri & and we require applicants that are able to work between these hours. You must ne able to work any shift during our opening hours.
