Full job description

London , United Kingdom; (Hybrid)

REQ ID JR113789

Please note that this role is based in the United Kingdom. To enable us to meet the statutory and regulatory obligations of the United Kingdom immigration system, you must have the appropriate immigration permission needed to work and reside in the United Kingdom for the duration of the employment.

This role supports the International Production Consultancy team for International Formats, assisting in the roll-out and ongoing management of SPT's international unscripted format portfolio, including Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy! and Shark Tank / Dragons' Den, across Sony's own International Production Companies (OpCos) and via Territory Sales teams to third-party producers, broadcasters, platforms and sponsors.

The Production Assistant provides production administration and coordination support to the consultancy team, ensuring the smooth running of consultancy functions including diary management, travel, supporting new format launches and ongoing international productions, and supporting pre-sales activity by collating and distributing product and production information both internally and directly to clients.

The role also includes maintaining international production materials and databases, acting as a first point of contact for licensee and Sony OpCo queries, and responding in a timely manner to requests for production data required for reports and presentations to Sony teams, production companies, distribution executives, stakeholders and clients.

What you'll do:

  • Serve as a first point of contact for licensees and Sony OpCos on production-related queries, escalating to consultants as appropriate.
  • Support the coordination of international format launches and pre-production sessions, both remote and in-person, ensuring all logistics and materials are in place.
  • Collect, review and log show reports, screeners and production assets from licensees and Sony OpCos, ensuring materials meet SPT brand and format standards.
  • Support the preparation and maintenance of production bibles and format documentation, including collating and formatting elements to a consistent standard.
  • Reconcile sales information with post-production reports and assist with asset management where required.
  • Maintain and update production tracking documents and databases, including logging materials sent and received from licensees and Sony OpCos, ensuring records are current and accurate.
  • Act as primary administrator of the format bible database on Box, managing access and distributing materials to clients and internal stakeholders as requested.
  • Collate and maintain a comprehensive library of production information across formats, including screeners, know-how documents, budgets and local adaptation materials.
  • Use Sony platforms including Box, CI, Runner, Connect and PSS to support format operations and information management.
  • Identify and implement improvements to production tracking systems and processes to support operational efficiency across the team.
  • Provide diary management, travel coordination and expense processing support to the wider consultancy team.
  • Coordinate logistics for client and partner meetings, including scheduling, briefing packs and follow-up materials.
  • Prepare client follow-up packages as directed, including screeners, product information and bespoke production materials.
  • Support the team at key industry events and client screenings, including travel arrangements and meeting preparation.
  • Provide input for format sales and production reports for both internal and external stakeholders, as directed by the Production Consultant or VP.
  • Support pre-sales activity by collating and distributing product and production information to clients and internal teams in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate contact and communication records for licensees and Sony OpCos, supporting continuity of relationship management across the team.

What you have:

  • Typically 1–2 years’ experience in a production or office environment, with at least 1 year in a television production or distribution context strongly preferred.
  • Experience in production administration, including tracking systems, databases and format documentation.
  • Experience managing executive diaries and coordinating international travel arrangements.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively and meet deadlines whilst maintaining strong attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deal confidently with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proactive and enthusiastic team player with a genuine interest in international television production.
  • Relevant industry experience required; a degree or equivalent qualification is desirable but not essential.
  • TV production training or qualifications are advantageous.
  • Additional language skills are advantageous given the international scope of the role.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Confidence with databases and cloud-based file management systems, including Box and SharePoint.

How we take care of you:

  • Competitive salary, with annual bonus eligibility.
  • A choice of comprehensive health plan options that fit your lifestyle, including private medical insurance.
  • Rest and recharge during a week off during the winter holidays, in addition to the 25 days of paid annual leave.
  • Participate in extensive learning & development opportunities at all levels, including curated instructor-led classes and high-impact online resources.
  • Build your community by joining our Employee Business Resource Groups, and/or Sony Pictures Action – our racial equity and inclusion strategy.
  • Access to an employee online store filled with a variety of discounted Sony products.
  • Watch the newest movies and TV shows at our exclusive employee screenings at work.
  • Entitlement to apply for an interest-free season ticket loan.
  • Automatic enrolment in the Company’s Pension Plan
  • Free counselling and advisory service.
  • You will be automatically enrolled in the Company’s Life Insurance and Group Income Protection Plans, subject to any applicable service requirements.
  • The opportunity to attend various social events in our state-of-the-art offices in Paddington.

In addition to the above, we have a range of other optional discounted benefits that are reviewed regularly (e.g., gym memberships, travel insurance, activity passes, car leasing, experience days and many more!)
